Chelsea vs Wolves: Chelsea Triumph Over Wolves to End Winless Run

Chelsea delivered a commanding second-half performance to defeat Wolves 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, ending their five-game winless streak in the Premier League and climbing into the top four. Tosin Adarabioyo opened the scoring for the visitors, with his goal awarded by VAR after initially being flagged offside. However, Chelsea responded in emphatic fashion as Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke netted twice in quick succession to secure victory.

Cucurella, celebrating his 100th Premier League appearance, fired home from close range in the 61st minute after Noni Madueke’s cross was flicked on by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Moments later, Madueke himself found the back of the net, heading in from a corner after Trevoh Chalobah rose highest to deliver a crucial assist. Chalobah, fresh from his loan stint at Crystal Palace, had an influential game with the most touches of any player on the pitch.

The win overshadowed a nervy moment for Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, whose error allowed Matt Doherty to equalize just before halftime. Sanchez misjudged Matheus Cunha’s looping delivery and failed to clear the danger, marking his fourth error leading to a goal this season. Despite the criticism, manager Enzo Maresca defended his keeper, emphasizing Sanchez’s overall contributions: “Mistakes happen. He’s saved us more times than he’s cost us.”

The result moves Chelsea two points clear of Manchester City and Newcastle United in fourth place, while Wolves remain precariously positioned just outside the relegation zone on goal difference. Vitor Pereira’s side, now with a league-high 51 goals conceded, face mounting pressure as they continue their fight for survival.
