The Indian cricket team has reportedly added fast bowler Harshit Rana to its 18-member squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, set to begin in Leeds on June 20. According to a report in Dainik Jagran, Rana, who was initially part of the India ‘A’ side, has been included as the 19th member, though the BCCI is yet to confirm the development. Rana, who made his Test debut in Australia last year, brings additional depth to India’s pace attack,
which already features Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, and Arshdeep Singh. His inclusion comes as India, led by Shubman Gill, looks to secure their first Test series win in England since 2007. With the retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India’s revamped side features fresh faces like Sai Sudharshan and returning players such as Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur. The series marks India’s first assignment in the new World Test Championship cycle, with matches scheduled at Headingley, Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford, and The Oval.
