Kerala Blasters Bolster Squad with Signing of Young Goalkeeper Arsh Anwer Shaikh

Kerala Blasters FC have announced the signing of talented young goalkeeper Arsh Anwer Shaikh on a three-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2028. The 22-year-old shot-stopper joins from Mohun Bagan Super Giant, where he gained valuable experience in top competitions like the Indian Super League, Durand Cup, and AFC Cup. Regarded as one of India’s most promising goalkeepers, Arsh is known for his sharp reflexes, composure under pressure, and ability to command his defence.

Abhik Chatterjee, CEO of Kerala Blasters, emphasized the club’s long-term vision, stating that Arsh’s signing aligns with their strategy of building a strong Indian core. “We see him as someone who can grow with us and become a key part of our future,” he said. Sporting Director Karolis Skinkys also praised Arsh’s natural talent and mentality, highlighting how his arrival will intensify competition among the goalkeepers, raising the overall standard of the squad.

Arsh expressed his excitement about joining the Blasters, acknowledging the club’s passionate fanbase and the opportunity to develop further. “This is the right environment for me to learn and grow,” he said. “I will give my best to contribute to the team’s success.” His arrival follows the signing of Amey Ranawade, as Kerala Blasters continue reinforcing their squad ahead of the new season.

With Arsh joining Sachin Suresh and Nora Fernandes in the goalkeeping department, Kerala Blasters have added depth and competition to a crucial position. The move signals the club’s intent to invest in young Indian talent while building a squad capable of challenging for top honors in domestic football. Fans will be eager to see how Arsh adapts to his new role and contributes to the team’s ambitions in the coming years.
