As the 2026-27 Indian Super League season approaches, Kerala Blasters FC have intensified their efforts to rebuild the squad amid ongoing financial uncertainty and a potential change in ownership. The club is in advanced talks to secure two key players: veteran goalkeeper Amrinder Singh and young winger Mohammed Sanan. These moves signal the Blasters’ intent to reinforce their spine ahead of the new campaign, even as off-field challenges persist.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper, who has represented the Indian national team, is reportedly in advanced discussions with Kerala Blasters. Amrinder Singh brings a wealth of experience having played for ATK, Bengaluru FC, Mumbai City, Mohun Bagan, and most recently Odisha FC. With the Kerala Blasters’ current goalkeeping option including Arsh Anwer Shaikh, Amrinder Singh’s addition would add significant experience and leadership at the back.
The 22-year-old winger Mohammed Sanan, who has been with Jamshedpur FC since 2023, is also keen on joining the Kochi-based outfit. Sanan, who primarily operates as a left winger, recorded two goals in 13 appearances during the 2025/2026 ISL season. With Jamshedpur not participating in this year’s ISL, the young attacker is reportedly waiting to see how negotiations proceed. His addition would provide much-needed depth and pace on the flanks.
The Blasters’ pursuit of these players comes at a crucial juncture. While the club’s ownership situation remains unresolved, the management appears committed to strengthening the squad. Alongside these potential signings, Kerala Blasters have already added players like French forward Kevin Yoke and Spanish striker Víctor Bertomeu. However, with the August 31 transfer deadline approaching, the Blasters face a race against time to finalize these deals and build a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
