This act sparked immediate backlash and led to disciplinary action from the Saudi Football Federation. In response to the incident, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation swiftly handed Ronaldo a one-match suspension along with fines totaling 30,000 Saudi riyals. Ronaldo expressed his perspective, stating that his actions were fueled by the joy of victory and should not be construed as shameful, citing cultural differences between Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Despite the suspension, Ronaldo’s impact on the Saudi league remains profound, leading the scoring charts with an impressive tally of 22 goals in 20 appearances for Al Nassr this season. Since joining Al Nassr in December 2022, Ronaldo has been a dominant force in Saudi football, consistently delivering stellar performances on the pitch.
